My studio is not confined to 4 walls, but rather is the world outside and the only equipment required is a camera and a willingness to look for new perspectives. Lighting comes courtesy of whatever is available; sun, sky, reflective light from the moon – we have access to it all. I feel I am not restricted by subject or location, only by an obligation to record the world I see with honesty, compassion & imagination. My surroundings and subjects are captured with creative eyes and a classic, timeless aesthetic. If you’ve taken the time to view my portfolio of images, you will find I have a deep love for the natural world and it’s beautiful landscape; I am also inspired by theater, and theatrical lighting. Mark Thode

I am a graphic designer and photographer from Pipestone, MN. I was born and raised in Pipestone, graduating high school in the spring of 2007. I received my undergraduate from Bemidji State University in the spring of 2011, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Design Technology. After graduation, I moved back home to Pipestone and worked as a graphic designer for Pipestone Publishing until the fall of 2018. I started my business when I was in college, and then continued running the business in the evenings and on the weekends. I now have a studio space in historic downtown Pipestone, offering portraits and graphic design services. When I am not photographing or creating graphic art, I enjoy spending time with friends, family, and my dogs Kirby & Bailey. I am an avid Netflix binger, and during all hours of the day you will find me listening to podcasts while I work. Thanks for visiting my blog.
